  • Lundi 23 novembre 10h-11h30 – Séminaire CIS, The Julia programming language: a fresh approach to scientific computing. Présentateurs : Thierry Garaix, Baptiste Pierrat

Résumé : Julia is an emerging language that is gaining a lot of traction in the scientific community. Julia is designed to be a high-level language, easy to use (think Python, Matlab) without compromising on performance (think C++, Fortran). In this seminar, we will give a brief introduction to Julia through short representative examples of its applicability in research and teaching. Note that it will not be a training session, but rather give some feedback on the benefits and limitations of this language through user experience.
